NUARA ELIYA TRAVELING STORY
TRAVELING STORY OF SRI LANKA
TRAVELING STORY – Every time this time in January, I and my long-time friend Sudeep went out after managing the holiday.
After a long period of research and extensive headaches, he came out of our trip to Sri Lanka (four nights and five days).
In short, our schedule is not a little hasty, it will help you all to understand that I will share this travel experience with you in four episodes in total.
- The first night we’ll be at Nuara Eliya.
- On the second night we will stay in a place called Katara Gamma which is actually just a short distance from Yala National Park (Google will show the distance is 37 kilometres but you have to cross the highway to get there in 30 minutes).
- The third night we will be staying in Bentota, a seaside town. However, we do not have so much gheeji like Goa.
On the fourth night we will stay in Colombo. This is our last night in Sri Lanka because on the morning of the fifth day we have to start our journey back to India again.
And without wasting time, let’s talk about our experience:
Both of us are heavily excluded for the first time in immigration passports, saying the first overseas trip in life, without any help from the management itself completely, he spent the first night traveling with us, because our entire trip tie was four nights five days so the time was right. Utilization was more urgent.
Since our connecting flight was with Indigo Airlines. we did not have to re-check our luggage, the next flight to Colombo was at 4:20 in the morning. we had to plan to spend about three hours in our lounge from 12 midnight which is now available for free with many credit cards. At three o’clock in the morning we hand la again We took the gauge to our designated gate, boarded the flight on time, and arrived in Colombo on time, that is, at 5:30 in the morning, after completing immigration, customs, baggage collection, we freshened up ourselves and when we got out of the airport, it was exactly 7 in the morning.
Mr. Shanta, our charioteer, stood in the arrival hall of our name board airport, having booked in advance. After the initial conversation, we set off in our designated car for the “Nuara Eliar”. The distance from Colombo to Nuwara Eliya is 160 kilometers, a hilly road takes about 5 hours.
When we reached Nuara Eliya in light blizzard, when the temperature of Nuara Eliya was down to 13 degrees in Colombo, the temperature was 32 degrees. It can get cold on arrival.
In the meantime
we had to read in a nuisance when our car’s tire got punctured when we left for 70km, we had to go to our local auto for this 70km. Our team assured us that he would come to our hotel to repair the tire of the car. We drove the rest of the way to Ottawa with our backpacks. Of course, we can’t help but admire our charioteer, Mr. Shanta, because he paid the local auto and paid his rent in full and refused to take a penny from us. He told us the whole incident at the hotel reception with our details so that there would be no problem in checking our hotel. Mr. Shanta called us at half past five and told us that he had reached our hotel.
On the first day
Nuara Eliya is famous for Sita Elijah, this is Sita Eliya where Ravana had taken Sita into captivity. There is an Ashoka bowl under which is the temple of Ram and Sita. But when you go inside the temple you will see the statue of Tirupati Balaji Bhagwan. According to Sinhalese mythology, Ravan is worshiped as a deity. so the idol of Ravana can be seen on both sides of the temple entrance.
Apart from Sita Elijah, there are also Lake Gregory, golf courses, some mountain waterfalls, but in my opinion the real beauty of Nuura Elijah is sitting in the balcony of his hotel room as the little hill station of Nuara Eliya will remind us of Darjeeling.
This is the story of our first day in Sri Lanka, we will be staying at Nuara Eliya tonight, tomorrow morning we will be heading to Yala, Yala National Park.
How to Reach :
- We started journey with the Indigo flight to Chennai at 6:50 pm, landed in Chennai at 10:30 pm.
- Then overcame the hassle of Chennai immigration.
I will hear that Sri lanka traveling story again in the next episode.
The second day’s story are Yala National Pank and others Places.
