Mount Abu is the only hill station of the state of Rajasthan which add in the spice of variety in the normal style of the state. This is a hill station of the Aravalli range with Guru Shikhar as its highest peak which is 1722 meter or 5650 ft above sea level. This place is often termed as the “Oasis of the Desert”. This place have many history related to it and even adds to the spark of Rajasthan which is the land of histories. It is a small place with less population yet holds a great interest in the mind of the tourists.

A cool, calm and nature abound place which is imparting a refreshing undertone to the whole state. This hill station has its mention in our epic Mahabharata and is often considered to be a place for exile. It is said that this hill station with forest all around helped the Pandavas from Mahabharata to exile for 12 long years.
How to Reach Mount Abu
This place comes under the Sirohi district of the state of Rajasthan. It forms a rocky plateau structure and often turns out to be one of the popular tourist destinations of the state.
By Air: The nearest airport to reach Mount Abu is Udaipur airport which is 185 km away. It is also easy to reach Mount Abu from Ahmedabad as it has daily flights available. Ahmedabad is just 221 km away from this place. One can book taxi from Ahmedabad or Udaipur in advance to reach to Mount Abu.
By Railway: Abu Road railway station is the closest one to reach the hill station which is just 28 km from the main city. This railway station is well connected with cities like Jaipur, New Delhi, Ahmedabad, and Mumbai. After reaching the railway station one can easily avail taxi or public transport.
By Road: This Place connected through highways with major cities. The nearest highway is the NH14.
Temperature and weather of Mount Abu
Mount Abu experiences three-season summer, monsoon, and winter. The places through experience different weather but still provides a favorable climate throughout the year.
In summer, this season extends from mid April to mid June and the place experiences an average temperature of 36°C maximum. In Monsoon this place receives a good amount of rainfall and this season extends from July- September. The winter in this place experiences temperature range from 12°C to 29°C and the season continues from November till February.
The most favourable time of the year to visit Mount Abu would be any time of the year except January due to the steep fall in temperature.

Places to visit in Mount Abu
Dilwara Temple:
The temple was built within 11th and 13th Century by Vastupal and Tejpal. This temple is the symbol of great work of carvings and intricacies of the art of the age. From outside this could be austere but from inside it is magnificent. This temple includes five more temples like – Vimal Vashi, Luna Vashi, Pittalhar, Parshavanatha, Mahavir Swami Temple. The Vimal Vashi and Luna Vashi are the most famous among these five. This temple reflects the Jain culture and value of the religion.
Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary:
The rich biodiversity of this small hamlet. One must visit this sanctuary to experience the wide range of wildlife and various forms of nature. Spread across a distance of 288 km this place got the acclamation of a wildlife Sanctuary at 1960. This place is here to preserve the Flora and Fauna of the place. This place on the hill top gives a view of variety of nature made structures and a wide range of birds and animals.
Nakki Lake:
The Paradise for nature lovers on the hilltop is the Nakki Lake or Nakki Jheel. This is truly a gem of Mount Abu. This is a man-made lake with 11000-meter depth and a quarter-mile wide. This lake adds a mystic sense to the whole place.
