BENTOTA SRI LANKA TRAVELING STORY
BENTOTA SRI LANKA
As we told you on the second day, on the third day we will start on the way to Bentota. About 20 km from our hotel, Bentota is about 20 km. Time to go will take like three hours.
In this regard, Bentota is a major beach town in Sri Lanka. Asian European tourists can see almost everywhere. There are plenty of hotels along the beach that have their own beach to spend time in the beach all day. Lots of beach shacks, coffee shops here to spend time,
There is a direct rail line along the banks of Bentota Beach that you will see at least two passenger trains per hour. The hotels here are both one beach side and the other on the river side, the hotels in Riverside are usually cheaper because they have less views, the daily rates of beach side hotels are higher.
There is an activity in Bentota that you may not want to do, but the one I did is “Madu River Safari“. The safari is done by speed boat on Madu river. As usual, there is no sharing system. A speedboat can seat six to eight people.
The mangrove forest
About two to two and a half hours safari through the mangrove forest will take you to different islands, one of the largest and widest rivers in Sri Lanka is Madhu. The river is the only means of communication between about 50 islands and their inhabitants. On this river safari journey you will visit the island where shrimp fish farming, fish spa, intellectual monastery, cinnamon or cinnamon farming are done. The whole route is very exciting and on the way to the river you will see a lot of birds and it is ideal for photography. But one thing to say is that when it comes to Buddhist monasticism, it is mandatory to donate there, of course, there is no minimum payment amount.
This river safari
This river safari package includes a fish spa for 30 minutes ideal for relaxation. There are also arrangements to buy from there after visiting. They earn a living by selling various products to tourists, so you can help them by buying some products from them.
Turtle Hatcheries
On our return trip this river safari, we went on a return trip to a turtle hatchery, where various marine turtles who were injured in various ways were taken care of. You can see different types of turtles here. By the way, there are many turtle hatcheries along the edge of Bentota Sea Beach, which they call Turtle Hospital. These turtle hatcheries do all sorts of things, from hatching the baby to treating them and releasing them into the sea when they are a little older.
After seeing the Turtle Hatchery,
we set off for lunch at Amal Villa & Restaurant. On the beach Different types of marine fish arranged in layers in the showcase. From there you can choose the fish of your choice and say the preparation at the counter. They have many types of tables here such as normal garden, bar, sea side garden, sea side candle light table.
we finished our lunch at 4:30 in the afternoon. Then we spent some time here in the sea beach. It is very difficult to express in a beautiful environment language. you can guess something by looking at the pictures. After spending some time on the beach. We headed back to the hotel, bought some Sri Lankan flavored tea from a shop on our way back to the hotel. If buying tea in Sri Lanka. My suggestion it is not better than buying in Bentota, then buying from Dilmah Tea Center in Colombo.
Tea Art Gallery
We bought tea from the Run Estate Store, but it’s not a shop like the Tea Art Gallery. For those tea lovers this is the ideal place, almost like getting the moon in hand. We couldn’t count how many types of tea there are for sale. Yet some of the teas like Earl Gray, Morning Dew, Broken Orange Pico, we bought for ourselves. If you want to gift Sri Lankan tea to someone. you can buy it from here. There are many options of gift sets in their shop.
In Bentota we were in a hotel called “Waterside Bentota”. It is on the bank of a river opposite the sea. Quite a pleasant atmosphere. In all, the hotel has 12-14 rooms. A Swedish group of 12 people was at the hotel, and no other tourists were there. The hotel has its own swimming pool. If you want to rent a boat from the hotel you can spend some time on the river. It was almost six and a half for us to enter the hotel, after which we sat on the balcony of our room and enjoyed the river breeze.
